First Book attempt

Well the first book was not at the bookstore, WHAT!?! So I decided just to read whichever book I can get my hands on and start there. Ergo, I will begin this challenge with a different book, stay tuned for which one, however I'm totally engrossed in this book Lament and I can't put it down right now, so if anyone of you are looking for a good read about faeries (that's how they spell it), evil queens and young love, dig in, it's great.

88 Books

I love to read, and I have since I was able to hold a book on my own, even if I didn't know the words on the pages, I didn't hesitate to make the words up as I went along. My poor younger brother, Jeremiah, was my reading partner, I forced him to sit next to me while I "read" to him, luckily he couldn't read yet either so he thought I was actually reading to him this great story. Now, Jeremiah has a little girl of his own and I have now begun the book collection for her to read when she gets old enough (4months might be too old to give her Narnia just yet). I was at Barnes & Noble looking for her first book from me and stumbled upon the Newbery Collection and the thought came to me, I should read all of the Newbery Awarded books. Hence my new blog, I thought it would be fun to read and document my thoughts on each book.
The Newbery Medal is given once a year to a children's book, there are typically honor medals given as well each year, but my goal for now is the Newbery Medals. So I begin this journey with the first book given the award The Story of Mankind by Hendrik Willem van Loon...
